the Inland Empire Dance Center formerly Bowen-Hayes School of the Arts began in the city of Grand Terrace in 2006. Bowen & Hayes are the maiden names of Artistic Director & Founder Jamie Azpeitia-Sachs' Grandmother's whom both had a deep appreciation of the performing arts. Our focus & goal is to teach the basic techniques of various dance styles while centering on dance as an art form, not a competitive sport where the focus is centered on winning. Combined our instructors have taught in EVERY state, and 8 countries!

IE Dance Center was noted as the first Pre thru professional Performing Arts School in the City of Grand Terrace. Now having relocated to Riverside, we are still offering the finest instruction in: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Costume design, Musical Theater, Swing, Salsa, & Ballroom! Open to ages 3-Adult.

IE Dance Center & IE Contemporary Ballet, Inc.  have received a reputation as being professional, with strong technique, and strong supporter of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Students, and instructors are noted for their superb technique in all genres of dance, especially both the Balanchine & Vaganova methods, as well as Fosse based Jazz & Musical Theater styles.

Host of the "Grand Terrace Black" & "White Mayor Charity Ball", "Dancing for a Cure", and "School of the Arts Scholarship Foundation". Partner of the "Inland Empire Contemporary Ballet". We now reside in a 4,000+ sq ft facility in Riverside, California!

Aside from technique, we specialize in costume design, private parties, weddings and set/backdrop designs. As of February 2016, our competition dance team made sure we are now an award winning studio! Having placed platinum, Ultra High Gold, High Gold, Gold, 2 FULL scholarships, Platinum group routine, placed in the top 10 & placed in the top 5 studio's for Southern California! The Inland Empire Contemporary Ballet, Inc. was named as one of the best places to dance in 2013, 2014 & 2016 by the Inland Empire Magazine, and Bowen-Hayes School of the Arts named a Small Business of Excellence Awarded by the City of Riverside Small Business Association!

We are one of VERY few (if any) dance institutions in the Inland Empire that has an Artistic Director that has studied Pilates, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology & Physical Therapy for over 15 years & holds a California State VAPA Certificate, with an on-call Chiropractor & Holistic doctor on staff!
